Prince Charles and Camilla are 9th Cousins

Monday April 4, 2005
When Prince Charles first met Camilla Parker-Bowles at a polo match in the early seventies, she said to the prince, "My great-grandmother and your great-great grandfather were lovers, so how about it?" According to family history experts at Ancestry.com the connection between the two is even stronger - Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are ninth cousins once removed. The royal mistress story is true as well - Camilla's great-grandmother, Alice Frederica Edmonstone Keppel, was royal mistress to King Edward VII from 1898 until his death in 1910.
