Devastating Events of the Past

On April 18, 1906, the California city of San Francisco suffered the greatest earthquake ever recorded in its history -- a tragedy which left more than half of the city homeless, and killed several thousand people. Historic disasters such as this one, from earthquakes to flu pandemics, affected the lives of our ancestors and, in some cases, altered forever the course of our family history. Just one of many reasons to learn more about the "history" in your family history.
