Visiting Salt Lake City
Monday September 5, 2005
I arrived last night and am so excited. Salt Lake City is beautiful - nice and clean and surrounded by mountains. The view from the hotel window is breathtaking. At the moment I'm sitting in the Family History Library, my first visit to this genealogy research mecca. There is so much here it is so hard to know where to begin - definitely a "kid in a candy store" feeling. I'm here for the FGS genealogy conference, but came a few days early to finally find a bit of time for my own research. I plan to spend some time digging into my many eastern North Carolina families, plus some time in the extensive British Isles collection. And in civil and church registers from France.... Back to my research!
