America's GenealogyBank

A major new online genealogy service will be coming online later this year, according to a report by Dick Eastman in his online genealogy blog. The new database will contain fully searchable, digitized images of millions of documents of genealogical interest - the equivalent of 100,000 genealogy books, obituaries, biographies, military records, marriage notices, local histories, and similar items. This project is a first for NewsBank, which usually provides its databases only to subscribing libraries. America's Genealogy Bank, however, will offer individual online subscriptions as well.
