Pictures of Historic Huntsville
Friday April 28, 2006
In 1811, Huntsville became the first incorporated town in Alabama, the beginning of a long, event-filled history for the beautiful Southern city. These beautiful photos illustrate Huntsville's historic past, including pictures of the Civil War era, Huntsville residents, historic homes, cotton mills, WWII and Huntville's emergence as the Space Capital of the Universe. These photos are just some of the hundreds of rare and valuable photographs from Huntsville's past made available as part of a 3-volume set of CDs from Old Huntsville Magazine.
The historic Huntsville photos are part of a private collection, but many similar historic photos can be found on the Web as part of free historic photo collections available for personal use in your family history projects.
