Remember Your Ancestors at Samhain

Tuesday October 31, 2006
Since ancient times, Pagans have paid their respects to departed loved ones, ancestors, and guides in the spirit world at Samhain (pronounced Sow-en or Sow-een), more popularly known as Halloween. Samhain -- from "samhuinn", Gaelic for "summer's end" -- is celebrated on each November 1st to mark the final harvest of the season. According to Pagan expert Terri Paajanen, Samhain is a time to reflect on the events of the past year, and to remember and celebrate the ancestors who have gone before.
