A number of sites are intent on making family history more interactive and fun, connecting people and generations through advanced social computing and networking technologies such as wikis, RSS, mapping and online family tree building - think MySpace or Facebook for family trees. Most of these sites offer a number of interactive ways to connect with relatives, build your family tree, and collect and preserve family memories, including everything from photo and video uploading to DNA databases. This list highlights nine notable next-generation genealogy Web sites, from popular sites such as MyHeritage and Geni.com, to lesser known gems such as Story of My Life and GeneTree.
