Waiting for RootsMagic 4

Sunday July 6, 2008
Users of the popular genealogy software RootsMagic have been patiently waiting for version 4 to come out for quite some time now - hoping that the long delay since version 3 means that something new and exciting is in store. Well, according to Bruce Buzbee, the president of RootsMagic (who has made ever effort to "conceal my identity" as he "shares secrets from deep within the company"), RootsMagic 4 is coming, and will "be our biggest upgrade ever." He's joined the blogging world with his RootsMagic Insider blog - where hopefully we'll soon learn more about the much-talked-about release of RootsMagic 4.

I have an older version of Family Origins and I would like to update to something very close to my original, but Family Origins is no longer in existence and was wondering if RootsMagic was it’s replacement? Is there a sample on line of RootsMagic group sheets, etc and if I transfered my genealogy from Family Origins, would a lot be lost, etc.
Thanks.

Vickie-
Go to www.rootsmagic.com and there is a free version you can download. It allows 50 people-enough to get the feel for what is available.

I am still using RootsMagic 2.0 and was able to import all of my Family Origins “tree” without re-entering everyone - hey, I may even upgrade to 3.0 or 4.0, when it comes out!
