Somewhere in your house is a box or drawer full of videotapes -- aging home movies full of birthdays, dance recitals, holiday gatherings, a child's first steps and other special family moments. You haven't watched the movies in years but, unfortunately, the years are still taking their toll. By converting those old VHS tapes to digital form, you can effectively stop the deterioration in its tracks. It also allows you to use your computer to edit out the boring and blooper moments, add music or narration, and make extra copies for your family.

What about 8mm movies? We have many reels of these that are fading fast.

There are many companies that digitize 8mm, VHS and the rest to DVD’s. Here is one: http://www.gotmemories.com/
Never used them so can’t rate. Do a Google on the subject and you’ll find many more.

I’ve used gotmemories.com and they couldn’t be more professional. I worked with a guy named Phil and he’s super nice and my film transfers came out great. Now they’re on DVD and clarity enhanced. Couldn’t be happier.
