The Importance of Family

Wednesday December 24, 2008
My 90-year-old father-in-law has been seriously ill the past two weeks; something which has been consuming mine and my husband's time, focus and energy. Serious setbacks like this always seem to put things in perspective. All of a sudden, family is our only priority..even with the hustle and bustle of Christmas with three children, two full-time jobs, and everything else which manages to fill up every hour of our days. Please remember this holiday season to spend and enjoy time with your family. Ask questions about their history. Pull out old photo albums. Take new photos. Sing songs together. Write down treasured family recipes. Set up a video camera and record your conversations around the holiday table. Please remember that family is what family history is all about. Happy holidays to you and your families!
