I've been putting various beta versions of RootsMagic 4 through their paces for some time and it's an impressive program. New features include an improved Source Wizard for citing sources, the ability to share events among multiple people, recording DNA tests, improved navigation and data entry, and integrated Web search. It also offers a cool, new feature called RootsMagic To Go which allows you to install RootsMagic onto a USB drive and transfer data between it and your computer. This gives you the freedom to take RootsMagic and your data with you on vacation, the library, etc. Direct import of your data is available from PAF, Family Tree Maker (through 2006), Family Origins and Legacy Family Tree. RootsMagic 4 can also import your data from any other genealogy program through GEDCOM.
RootsMagic 4 is available for $29.95. Existing RootsMagic and Family Origins users may upgrade for only $19.95 for download (add $5 for shipping if you want it on CD). If you purchased RootsMagic 3 on or after August 1, 2008 or as part of a special genealogy conference offer during 2008-09, you are eligible for a free downloadable upgrade of RootsMagic 4. There is also a free trial version of RootsMagic 4 available.
Full review coming soon!

RootsMagic is temporarily offering a discount price for users of PAF and Ancestral Quest.

I did not think much of RM4. It seems like a watered-down version of FTM2009.
I couldn’t disagree more with the FTM2009 comment. We’ll see what the full review bears out, but I can’t imagine RM4 earning a rating equal to or less than FTM2009.
