Locating Ancestors in the US Census

Recommended as a good starting point for newcomers to genealogy and census research, the 1900 census index is regarded as one of the most inclusive and accurate of the federally created indexes. Conducted just over a century ago, the 1900 census is also recent enough that knowledge of individuals listed therein should be relatively easy to gather from relatives and family friends.
