Guards Stand Tall Through Isabel at Tomb of the Unknowns

For the first time in history, the soldiers who stand guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery were given permission to abandon their posts and seek shelter from Hurricane Isabel. The soldiers assigned to honor guard duty, however, said it would never happen, standing vigil through the night as the hurricane lashed down on Washington D.C.
