It was five years ago, but I think I'll always remember it like it was yesterday. While I was sitting in the Atlanta airport waiting for my connecting flight to take me to the 2001 FGS Conference (which I never did make it to), the unimaginable happened and my world -- and the world of millions of others -- changed forever.

While nothing can ever convey its enormity, dozens of September 11 archives and memorials attempt to recognize the heroes, tell the stories and convey the feelings of that very tragic day five years ago. Thanks to the work of thousands of volunteers, historians, and archivists around the country, the world will always remember.
