Need a hobby? Try genealogy

Monday February 27, 2006
Some people collect things. Others like to knit. Some of us probably have more hobbies than we should - at least that's what my husband will tell you! But if you're looking for something new to spice things up, genealogy may be the perfect hobby. It doesn't generate a huge collection of "things" to clutter up your house (well, if you don't count all the paper piles). It also doesn't have to cost a lot, given the prevalence of free genealogy records on the Internet and in libraries. It can satisfy your curiosities and connect you to your family in a way that no other hobby can. And, best of all, you'll never run out of ancestors to discover! Kay Soldier explores the fascinating aspects of genealogy research.
