Create Your Own Online Tombstone

Monday July 30, 2007
Bury It - Created with the Make Your Own Tombstone generatorThanks to Dick Eastman, I learned about this funny little script that allows you to create an epitaph and plop it on an online tombstone to see how it looks. If you come up with something humorous or interesting, you might want to submit it to Dick's online tombstone contest. He's choosing the most interesting submissions as the photo for his blog post.

Rather than trying to expand on the many very funny genealogy taglines already available, I thought I would go for a little touch of sarcasm. The sad thing is, at least for those of us who care about our female ancestors, this tombstone may reflect more truth than fiction.

I got the impression from your paragraph on creating your own tombstone that I would be able to “design” one for myself to see how it would look. However, I can’t see any way to do that in the follow-up article. I tried clicking on the underlined “funny little script”, but that didn’t help. Am I missing the point here? Thanks for your very interesting and useful newsletter.

David in regards to your comment I found it easy to find. I clicked on ‘Dick’s online tombstone contest’ and then clicked on the link that showed withing that text and hey presto there it was.
