Kathleen W. Hinckley, is a Certified Genealogical Records Specialist, author, lecturer, and owner and operator of Family Detective. She also serves as the executive director of the Association of Professional Genealogists, and trustee for the Board for Certification of Genealogists.
Kathleen has lectured at numerous national conferences sponsored by the
National Genealogical Society,
Federation of Genealogical Societies, and
GENTECH, and at numerous regional
conferences. She is a contributing author to The
Source: A Guidebook for American Genealogists, Revised Edition, a
regular columnist for Genealogy.com and author of Your Guide to the
Federal Census (Betterway Books, 2002) and Locating Lost Family Members and Friends
(Betterway Books, 1999). She has also had numerous articles published in
Heritage Quest magazine, Family Tree Magazine, Association of
Professional Genealogists Quarterly, National Genealogical Society
Quarterly, OnBoard (Newsletter of the Board for Certification of
Genealogists), and Speak! (Newsletter of the Genealogical Speakers
Guild).
