Pippenger, Wesley E. Index to Virginia Estates, 1800–1865, Volume 1: Counties of Arlington (including the City of Alexandria), Fairfax, Fauquier, King George, Loudoun, Prince William and Stafford. Richmond, Va.: Virginia Genealogical Society, 2001. This is the first volume in a series which will cover the entire state. Each volume contains a list of all estate records found in the city or county will books. The primary source of the information is the Library of Virginia's microfilm; copies of these books; however, where will books are missing, other estate records may be identified and used including, when feasible, both original and unrecorded wills.
