The calendar named for Julius Caesar in official
use from 45 B.C. to 1582 A.D. It was named for Julius Caesar and is often
referred to as the "Old Style" calendar. It was officially replaced by
the Gregorian calendar in 1582, though many countries didn't adopt it until much
later.
