Correct!

Most records used in Canadian research are written in English or French. You will need some knowledge of French to understand French-Canadian records in areas where there was heavy French settlement including Quebec, parts of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario and Manitoba. Throughout the rest of Canada, the records will be primarily in English, though you will find a smattering of other European languages in communities where those groups have settled.
