Remarks: The State of Michigan Division for Vital Records has records of births, marriages, and deaths that occurred in Michigan and were filed with the state since 1867 and Michigan divorce records since 1897. Check or money order should be made payable to State of Michigan. Personal checks are accepted. You can also order by phone, fax or via the Internet with a major credit card (an extra $5 fee applies). Additional copies of the same record, ordered at the same time are $4.00 each. in Michigan less than 110 years old is restricted by state law. Copies may
be requested only by a person named on the record, their legal guardian or
representative, or their heirs if they are deceased. Please include with
your request the person's (named on the
record) full name at birth, date of birth, the place of birth (at least
the city or county), the full name of the mother before first
married and the full name of the father (if father is listed on
the record). If any of this information is unknown, please indicate
that it is unknown. Some Michigan birth records (especially pre-1906) were
not filed with the state but may be available by contacting the County

The groom's name is required to do a search for the years 1950 thru 1975. Please include the full maiden name of the bride, full name of the groom and the location of the marriage (city and/or county).Application for Marriage Record * Marriage records may also be obtained from the County Clerk in the county where the marriage license was issued.Event: Divorce Dates: From 1867Cost of copy: $13.00 (covers a 3-year search)Comments: The Michigan Vital Records office has records of divorces that occurred in Michigan and were filed with the state since 1897. Some divorces (especially pre-1924) were not filed with the state. They also have no divorce records for Detroit for 1973 and 1974. Anyone is eligible to request a copy of a Michigan divorce record if the application is completed and signed and the required fee is paid. Please include the full names of the husband and wife at the time of the divorce and the county where the divorce or annulment was granted.Application for Divorce Record * Divorce records may also be obtained from the
