Additional copies of the birth record when ordered at the same time are $8.00 each. Additional copies of the death record when ordered at the same time are $5.00 each. Minnesota State Law does not allow you to order records by phone or via the Internet.

of Health (MDH) maintains birth records from 1900 for the entire state of
Minnesota. For birth records prior to 1900, or for events that occurred
less than three months ago, please contact the county
office where the event occurred. Anyone applying for a certified copy
of a birth certificate in Minnesota must prove a tangible
interest: i.e.
subject named on birth certificate, child or grandchild of subject, parent
or grandparent of subject, spouse or legal representative. Signature
and notarization required! This is not a requirement for the
non-certified version. * Copies of earlier records may be obtained from Local Registrar in county where the birth occurred.Event: Death Dates: From 1 908Cost of copy: $1 1.00 (certified or non-certified)Comments: The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) maintains death records from 1908 for the entire state of Minnesota. Please forward your request with the following information: the name of groom, the full name of bride (at time of marriage license application), the date the marriage took place (approximate year if date is unknown), the name and address to send search results and a daytime phone number, including area code.Event: Divorce Dates: Statewide index from 1970, county dates varyCost of copy: $8.00 (county)Comments: The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) does not issue copies of divorce decrees. Your request should be directed to the county where the divorce was granted. The fee for a divorce decree varies depending on the size of the document (usually about $10.00). Please contact the county office for ordering and fee information. * If you are uncertain about where the event occurred, MDH can search the state divorce index from 1970 through 1998 -- there is no fee for this service.
