Event: Divorce

Dates: From 1906

Cost of copy: $15.00

Comments: Access to divorce records in Oregon is restricted for 50 years to family members and legal representatives. Application for divorce record

* Genealogists are better off ordering copies of divorce decrees from the County Court that granted the divorce than from the State Vital Records office. The State Office issues a summary document called a divorce certificate. A divorce certificate does not have all the information contained in the decree so is not as useful for genealogists. County clerks may also have some records available prior to 1906.
