These fun items make great presents for friends or co-workers who are addicted to genealogy and also work well as stocking stuffers. But small and inexpensive doesn't mean they will be any less appreciated!

1. Subscription to an Online Research Database
I haven't met a genealogist who wouldn't appreciate a subscription to an online genealogy database (except those who don't have access to a computer, of course). It is so nice to be able to do some research from the comfort of home. Some of the services are currently running holiday specials and gift bundles.

2. Scrapbooking Supply Kit
Genealogy and scrapbooking go hand in hand and your favorite genealogist will be sure to appreciate the opportunity to turn all of their computer databases, boxes of old photos and scribbled notes into a precious family heirloom.

3. Generations Board Game
Generations is a board game based on your family's history and trivia. Do you know your grandmother's maiden name or which family member is/was the hardest to wake up? Enjoy humorous exchanges, memorable moments and Family fun! Online demo available.

4. Heirloom Seeds
Heirloom seeds grow old-fashioned varieties of plants and vegetables. It can be a lot of fun to think that the plants you’re growing are exactly the same as those of your ancestors!

5. Antique Map or Print of Ancestor's Homeland
Over 20,000 original antique maps and prints from such producers as Rand Mc Nally, Johnson’s Maps, Mitchell’s Maps, and United States government agencies. These include maps of states, cities, countries, continents, oceans, and islands. Prices range from $50 and under to over $600.

6. Genealogy Novelty Items
Novelty items such as genealogy-related t-shirts, mugs, key chains, license plate holders, bookmarks, bumper stickers, iron-on decals, playing cards and more make great stocking stuffers. A nice variety of fun items is available from these vendors.

7. Photo Restoration
Genealogists treasure their family photographs, some of which are inevitably torn and faded. Using
digital computer technology, airbrush techniques and more, old prints can be restored, repaired, retouched, copied, enhanced, resized or colorized, all without harming the original photograph.  Prices will vary depending upon the company and the work which is done.

8. Genealogy How-To & Reference Books
No matter how knowledgeable your favorite genealogist is, they will always appreciate a genealogy "how to" or reference book. We have suggestions for beginners and more experienced genealogists, as well as scrapbookers and old photo enthusiasts.

9. Organization Tools
Staying organized is a nightmare for so many of us genealogists. Stacks of paper threaten to overtake the house! Organization supplies from a filing cabinet to genealogy organization software such as Clooz would be well appreciated. You could also try desk supplies such as sticky notes, file folders and highlighters, and preservation supplies such as photo sleeves, boxes, binders, and more.

10. Christmas Coupons
One gift which would not cost you anything but your time would be an offer to cheerfully accompany your favorite genealogist on a research trip to the cemetery or a library. Your presence and understanding will be most appreciated, especially if you are usually one of those unwilling partners with no interest in dead people! An alternative option would be an offer of babysitting services for genealogists who are parents of young children, while they go to the library.  Create some special coupons and wrap them up with a pretty bow.
