Gioachino Antonio Rossini (29 February 1792 - 13 November 1868) was a famous Italian composer, known best for his operas such as The Barber of Seville. In 1887, Rossini's remains were moved to the Basilica di Santa Croce di Firenze in Florence, at the request of the Italian government, but the crypt that once housed them (now dedicated to his memory) still stands in Perè Lachaise.
