The Jersey Datestones Register
An architectural feature of many old Channel Islands houses of interest to family historians are datestones, in which the initials of husband and wife and a date were often carved on a piece of granite and used as a lintel above the front door. The Société Jersiaise explains more about this tradition, as well as hosting a large database of datestones searchable by surname.
