Britain's national mapping agency has free downloadable maps in a variety of scales, as well as offering (for sale) historical maps of pretty much every town and rural area in Great Britain.

A database of the geographic location of churches, registration districts etc in the UK, with details of their founding and closing dates, from GENUKI.
UK Street Maps
This site provides address searching and street map facilities for the UK. They currently have street maps for Greater London and road atlas maps for the whole of mainland Britain.
