Birth Records:

Dates: From 1 February 1914, plus some original Little Rock and Fort Smith records dating from 1881.

Cost of copy: $12.00

Comments: State law restricts access to birth records for 100 years to the registrant or a family member (parents, grandparents, spouse, children, grandchildren).

With your request, include as much as you can of the following information: the full name of the person listed on the certificate, date of birth, place of birth, full name of father, full maiden name of mother, your relationship to the person whose certificate you are requesting, the reason for your request, your address and signature.

Death Records:

Dates: From 1 February 1914

Cost of copy: $10.00

Comments: State law restricts access to death records less than 50 years old to the registrant or a family member.

With your request, include as much as you can of the following information: the full legal name of the deceased; the date of death; the county; sex; date of birth or age at death; race; name of spouse; name of parents; the reason why you are requesting the record; and your relationship to the person named on the death certificate.

Marriage Records:

Dates: From 1917

Cost of Copy: $10.00 for a state coupon, varies for county issued marriage certificates

Comments: Access to marriage records in the state of Arkansas is restricted to the registrants and family members. The Division of Vital Records does not have the actual marriage records, but issues a certified copy of the coupon of marriage or divorce in paper form.

A copy of the actual marriage license or decree can be obtained from the County Clerk or Circuit Clerk office in the county where the license was issued. Individual counties may have different access restrictions.

Divorce Records:

Dates: From January 1923

Cost of copy: $10.00 for a state coupon, varies for county issued divorce decrees

Comments: Access to divorce records in the state of Arkansas is restricted to the registrants and family members. The Arkansas Division of Vital Records does not have the actual divorce decree. Instead they issue a certified copy of the coupon of divorce in paper form.

A full certified copy of the divorce decree may be obtained from the Circuit or Chancery Clerk in the county where the divorce was granted. Individual counties may have different access restrictions.
