Biggest Pro
Gives automatic relationship to "Host" person
Automatically searches Ancestry.com for person's events. You can then ignore the event or link to that person along with the source.
Biggest Con
1)Frequent CRASHES, especially when linking person with MEDIA event
2)POOR TECH SUPPORT
3)Seems it's intent is more for purchase of Ancestry.com subscription then being a good genealogy program
My Review
This program has crashed when I:
1) Linked an event to the selected person(especially a Media link)
2) Compacting the file (which Tech Support says will cure crashes)
3) Backing up the program
4) Switching from one selected person to another
5) Exporting a file
6) Accidentally double clicking on a link
7) Haven't got a clue WHY
Contacting Tech Support (or NON-Support) gave these solutions:
Compact the file
Exporting a new file from charts
Exporting a GEDCOM
All the above either did not work or caused the program to crash
Tech Support also suggested " Uploading and downloading your file"
I must admit that I did not try this, as I was leery of what happened to my Data after it was uploaded to FTM and/or Ancestry.com
This program was supposed to have been created from scratch, but with their lack of a solution to these crash problems, makes me think
it is a FTM-PC modification to Mac.
In short, this program is a bust.
