My Most Wanted Ancestor
I have been searching for my Great Great Grandfather since I started researching my family tree in the early 1990's. My Great Grandmother was named Harriet Elizabeth Bishop, she was born to George Washington Bishop in NYC, I do not know the borough. Harriet's mother Nancy Jane Dexter came from Dexter's in Putnam and Westchester County, NY. George was supposedly born around 1845. Harriet to my knowledge was an only child; George left them, went to Philadelphia and supposedly remarried. But all my searches end there, he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.
Research & Records
I have searched family records, including bibles and elementary family tree records that previous family members have compiled, census records and ancestry.com. In addition I have searched other on-line geneology records.
Advice
- I would love to find a connection to George, date of birth, death, etc.
