My Most Wanted Ancestor
My great great grandfather came from Ireland, married Christina Garner of Ghent, NY. Robert Rosboro was probably born in Northern Ireland about 1801. Their first son was born March 25, 1833, named Alexander Garner Rosboro. I cannot find Robert's origin, cannot find a marriage certificate which might name his family in Ireland. This is truly a brick wall. Robert died in North Adams, MA , November 12, 1854 and is buried in Ghent cemetery
Research & Records
Searched census, Kinderhook Dutch Reformed Ch., tried to find probate records at Adams, MA and at Pittsfield, MA...no luck. Have also attempted to find records from the City Hall in Ghent. There is mention of Robert Rosboro in a history of Kinderhook. In Adams the newspaper ran an account of Robert Rosboro having died of a broken neck, there was an award offered for more information. Could not follow up on the article to see if someone was accused of a murder.
