The Italian Genealogical Group has just posted a searchable index to New York City deaths from 1891 to 1911 - a FREE database containing over 1,400,000 records. The NYC Deaths Index project is ongoing, and later years will be posted in the future.

This is just one of several great projects by this genealogy organization - click on the Databases link at www.italiangen.org for even more free databases. Current projects include indexing the brides (for Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx) and grooms for all boroughs of New York City - which will be published for free online searching when it is completed.
