The Everything Guide to Online Genealogy
Monday October 6, 2008
A box of shiny new books arrived on my doorstep yesterday, a reminder that my latest book, The Everything Guide to Online Genealogy, is now available in bookstores. Instead of the usual list of online Web sites found in many similar books, I focused primarily on how to use the Internet as a tool to trace your family tree - although there are plenty of highlighted Web sites, of course. You'll also find basic information for beginners new to genealogy research, plus an assortment of chapters organized primarily by record type, with background info, search techniques, Web sites, databases, and practical research examples. The final chapter brings into play much of what is learned throughout the book, with four basic case studies to walk readers through the online search process for a typical family tree.

Congratulations! I so much enjoy what you write and your passion for genealogy is evident! I certainly plan on purchasing your book. Good Luck.
Thank you SO much for the kind words, Debbie! You just made my day
Thanks for the dedication, Kimberly. (My shiny new copy arrived today.) You made my day and month and year and . . . I loved your choices for the last chapter. I recognized their roots. All those Little House on the Prairie books Mama gifted you with as a child. My favorite poet (and the shared birthday connection). And all the family reasons you might have chosen to feature the first man to walk on the moon . . . BTW the chapters between the dedication and the genealogy vignettes make good reading also
You are truly a gifted writer. I love the way you make searching for family information look easy. I often get side tracked when I find clues - I start in one direction and end up completely in another forgetting where I was going in the first place! You, in this book however, help the reader keep track of those clues and gently remind them of the original goal. This book is incredible and will be very valuable to me as I continue to research my family history. THANK YOU!
