Your Email Address:

Now that you have your email sorted into folders or mailboxes it is time to learn about filters. Message filtering is used to automatically process some or all of your incoming mail. You can have filters delete messages or put them into the separate folders you just set up, based on a set of rules which you determine. This is especially useful for heavy traffic genealogy lists, genealogy newsletters, etc. Filters can also be used to help screen out spam and send it directly to your trash bin. This will help to keep your inbox much less cluttered so you aren't as likely to miss that all important email from a long-lost cousin!

How to...

Use Filters in Eudora

Set Up an Incoming Mail Filter in Hotmail

Use Incoming Mail Filters in MSN Explorer

Set Up Message Filters in Netscape

Use Email Filters in Opera

Apply Custom Filters in Microsoft Outlook 2000

Set Up Filters in Outlook Express

Create Filters in Yahoo! Mail
