The Vital Statistics Agency has records of birth, marriage, and death occurring in Manitoba since 1882. Enclose the correct fee by cheque or money order (Canadian funds) made payable to the Minister of Finance. Payment may also be made by Visa or Mastercard. Records are available by applying in person at the Manitoba Vital Statistics Agency (see address above), by postal mail with the completed application form, or by fax with a credit card. Please call or check the Web site before ordering to verify current fees and other information. Genealogical searches are treated separately and require special forms which can be requested and sent to you by mail or fax, or picked up in person at the Vital Statistics Agency in Winnipeg.

Comments:  With your request include as much as possible of the following: full name of the person whose birth is begin requested (including maiden name for women), date and place of birth, full name of both parents (including maiden name of mother), birth places of parents, your relationship to the individual, the reason for your request, your full name and address, your phone number and your signature.

Comments:  With your request include as much as possible of the following: full names of the bride and groom (including maiden name for bride), date and place of marriage, birthplaces of the bride and groom, your relationship to the individual, the reason for your request, your full name and address, your phone number and your signature.


Event: Adoption

Cost of copy: NA

As a general rule in Canada, prior to the early to mid 1900s when provincial authorities became involved in adoptions, children were placed with family, friends or neighbors without involvement of government authorities or official documentation.
