Vital Records have been registered in Massachusetts since 1635. Statewide collection began in 1841. Records from 1911 to the present are available through Vital Statistics Department of the Massachusetts Department of Health. Records for events that occurred from 1841-1910 are available at the Massachusetts State Archives. Earlier records may be available at the City or Town of occurrence. Check or money order should be made payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Personal checks are accepted.
